How can I join the Elon Musk Space Force (EMSF)?
Members of the EMSF (called Musketeers) have to mint at least 1 Musketeer NFT to start participating in the Community. Mint a Musketeer NFT right nowfrom a Desktop computer 💻 by clicking on the Connect MetaMask button on the top-right☝️, and go to the #collabland-join channel on our Discord to become a @verified Musketeer and get access to our other Private channels. 🔑🔓
What is a MetaMask wallet?
A MetaMask wallet is a blockchain wallet used to store, buy, and sell crypto assets like Musketeer NFTs and $MATIC. We enforce the use of MetaMask on our website because we want to ensure our customers use a free and reliable wallet when purchasing Musketeer NFTs. If you don't already have a MetaMask account, you can sign up for one on their official website. 🦊
What is an NFT?
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a digital token consisting of data stored in a blockchain, a distributed public ledger like Bitcoin. Similar to some cryptocurrencies, NFTs exist in limited supply in the digital world. The ownership of an NFT is also recorded in the blockchain, and can be transferred by the owner, allowing NFTs to be sold and traded. The Elon Musk Space Force uses NFTs as digital tokens to unlock exclusive membership to our Community. Each of our Musketeer NFTs also comes with a unique Elon Musk artwork. 🎨
What is the price of a Musketeer NFT?
Because we want to make our Community accessible to as many Elon Musk fans around the world, each Musketeer NFT is sold initially for the price of 69 $MATIC (nice..😉), which amounts to less than $50 USD at the current time. We believe that this price range will deter tourists and intruders from infiltrating our community, while allowing our treasury to raise money for charitable causes that are aligned with Musk Foundation's mission.
What is $MATIC?
$MATIC is the currency on the Polygon blockchain, on which our Musketeer NFTs live. The price of 1 $MATIC is currently around $0.50 USD, but fluctuates daily. You can find the current conversion rate here. 💱
What is the Polygon blockchain?
Polygon is a layer-2 solution built on the Ethereum blockchain. The Polygon blockchain uses Proof-of-Stake, a consensus mechanism that is more environmentally friendly and that we believe is more aligned with Elon Musk's values about sustainable energy. 🌳 Contrary to Ethereum's expensive transaction fees (often upwards of $500 USD), the fees on the Polygon network are almost free, making our community accessible to everyone around the world. 💞 This means that you don't need to worry about paying absurd fees when purchasing our Musketeer NFTs, and also when voting on-chain for which Charitable grants you want our Community's treasury to support.
How many Musketeer NFTs are there?
There are 9,969 Musketeer NFTs, which means that no more than 9,969 members can be part of our Community at once. This ensures that the community doesn't grow past a size where collaboration and discussion could become unproductive. The maximum number of Musketeers is fixed, but Musketeer NFTs are transferable and can be sold to new members who want to join. Once all the Musketeers are initially minted from our website, they will have to be purchased on a secondary-sale NFT marketplace like Opensea. ⛵
How are the 9,969 Musketeers distributed?
How does the Community's Treasury work?
First, 420 Musketeer NFTs were initially sent to the Community's Treasury for future collaborations, marketing, and advisors to help grow our community. Additionally, every time someone mints a Musketeer NFT from our official website, an additional 69 $MATIC flows into our Community's Treasury. Similarly, every time someone buys a Musketeer NFT from a secondary marketplace like Opensea, a 6.9% royalty from that sale also flows into the Treasury. The money from the treasury is held into a Gnosis Safe, available here. 🔒
What is a Gnosis Safe?
Gnosis Safes are state-of-the-art crypto wallets that are used to manage crypto assets likes Musketeer NFTs and $MATIC, with the option to require a predefined number of signatures to confirm every transaction. When a Charitable grant proposal gets approved by a community vote, this is the mechanism by which money is sent out of our treasury. 🔑
Who are the authorized signatories on the Gnosis Safe?
Initially, the only authorized signatory on the Gnosis Safe is Elon Muskamoto, the team behind the Elon Musk Space Force. This allows us to be more nimble in the beginning, for example, when gifting Musketeer NFTs for collaborations, marketing, and advisors to help grow our community. As our Community grows, we will add trusted members of our community (eg: popular influencers) as authorized signatories on the Gnosis Safe to help make this project as fair and decentralized as possible. 🌐
Who is the team behind the Elon Musk Space Force?
The creators of the Elon Musk Space Force go by the pseudonym of Elon Muskamoto, a portmanteau of Elon Musk and Satoshi Nakamoto. We are die-hard Elon Musk fans ⚡🚀 and Decentralization Absolutists 🌐⛓️, inspired by Satoshi Nakamoto to gift a decentralized project to our fellow Musketeers. This is why 100% of the proceeds from this project will go to Charitable grants, as voted by members of our Community! 🌱💞 Following in the footsteps of Satoshi Nakamoto, we chose to remain anonymous because we believe that this project is bigger than us, and that it should ultimately belong to our Community.
